States & Nationals on the Swan River

2025-2026 Etchells Australian Championship

The Swan River Etchells Fleet will turn on another great Etchells regatta carnival in Perth, 18 to 26 February 2026

• WA State Championship — 18 – 21 February 2026
• Australian Championship — 23 – 26 February 2026

We take over the Swan River and base ourselves Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, one of Australia’s most prestigious senior yacht clubs in Peppermint Grove, WA. But it’s all about the racing and if you haven’t raced the river before, you’re in for a treat. Variable winds and always a 'get back in track' keep racing close and tight all the way to the finish line. Conditions set to provide a genuine test of skill, strategy, and teamwork.

As World Champion, John Bertrand AO commented “I’ve raced the Swan River many times. It’s absolutely fantastic. Warm and beautiful wind shifts for all to play with!”

Of course, our locals will put up some stiff competition, there’s plenty of serious talent here that will be on the course and indications are that some significant talent is turning up from interstate and overseas.

Competitors will enjoy first-class event management and a warm Western Australian welcome, complete with food and drinks after racing and social events — entry is FREE! You’ll have to join in to our hospitality.
