Kylie Wilson,

The Gosford Fleet concluded its season with a presentation night at Gosford Sailing Club. Prizes were presented by Leisl Tesch (Para Olympic Sailing Gold Medallist, recently elected as our local Member of NSW Parliament and wife of Etchells Fleet sailor Mark Thomson).

Winners included Club Championship and Most Fastest Times to Pointless, John McDougall, David Slingsby, and Mark Robson. Season Pointscore went to, The Don, Don Wilson, Graeme Murray, and Peter McIntosh. Best Club Representative at Regattas was awarded to Ivy, John Denton, Graeme Sheldon, and Roy Leslie. The final prize was for the Slingsby Sprint Series, where Curved Air, George Johnstone, Mark Thomson, and Justin Gurdol took the silverware.

We had eight enthusiastic crews, which provided for tight racing in the flat conditions of Brisbane Water. Early in the season we combined with the Pittwater Fleet to have some offshore racing, prior to the States and Nationals. This gave the confidence for first time crews to enter in the regattas.

Gosford is looking forward to next season, and we expect to have the same boats competing, with the possible addition of one more.
